enable copy paste from linux file directly to open apps

Hello,
If i remember correctly, previously I was able to select a image file copy it (in linux) and then in powerpoint past it directly, in my new installation i can not do it and i hear a sound coming from windows side. is there any option i need to enable for this to be possible? (same for drop files directly? in this case i dont recall ever working for me).
